This Charles Daly Superior Grade 20 gauge over/under was manufactured by Miroku in Kochi, Japan during the 1963–1968 era. It features factory floral/scroll engraving over a coin (French gray) steel receiver, 28-inch polished blued barrels with a ventilated, matted rib, and a single gold-colored trigger. Japanese proof symbols and rollmarks are present, and this pre-GCA example lacks a U.S. importer city/state marking. Matching serials are present on the action, forend, barrels, and wood.

Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Specific Condition Notes: The metal shows scattered scratches and finish blemishes. Small areas of pitting are present on the receiver and on the barrels around the chambers. The walnut stock and forend display numerous scratches. The locking lug is at the 6 o'clock position. The firing pins are in great shape, and the ejectors are properly timed.

Miroku manufacture and Japanese proofing place this shotgun firmly in the desirable 1963–1968 period for Charles Daly-branded doubles. The receiver carries tasteful factory floral and scroll engraving across the flanks, fences, top lever, and tang, contrasted by a coin (French gray) finish. The barrels are polished blue, and the action is steel.
The 28-inch barrels wear a ventilated, matted rib with a single front bead for a clear sight picture. It uses a break-action layout with a tang safety and a single, gold-colored trigger. Ejectors are properly timed, and the top lever sits to the right.
Stocks are walnut with a pistol grip and hand-checkering, capped by a hard-rubber buttplate molded "B.C. MIROKU." Length of pull measures 14.0 inches, offering a straightforward fit for many shooters.
Chamber markings include a "CHARLES DALY 20GA – 3" barrel rollmark, while the monoblock proof shows "20 70M/M." Chambers are 70 mm (2.75 in) per proof and are not for 3 in shells. Capacity is 2 rounds. Proofs and stamps include Japanese symbols such as "NP," plus "+" and "-" near the lumps, and "MIROKU FIRBARMS MFG. CO., KOCHI JAPAN" on the barrels (factory mis-stamp).
