It features Ruger Custom Shop hand-fitting, competition-focused ergonomics, and a distinctive two-tone stainless/black nitride finish. It comes with target sights and premium appointments that set it apart as a purpose-built 1911 from Ruger’s Custom Shop.

Built by the Ruger Custom Shop and designed in collaboration with Doug Koenig, this SR1911 emphasizes precision and consistency. The slide-to-frame and barrel lockup are hand-fitted, and the 5-inch barrel includes a traditional bushing, polished throat, fitted lug, and a target crown.
Competition-oriented controls and geometry enhance handling. An undercut trigger guard drives a deep, high grip, while the checkered front strap and flat, checkered mainspring housing provide secure purchase. A flared, extended magazine well speeds reloads, and a grip safety is included.
The slide wears chevron-pattern cocking serrations at the front and rear, plus top serrations to reduce glare. Target sights consist of a green fiber-optic front and a fully adjustable rear. The trigger is flat, skeletonized, and vertically serrated; the hammer is a skeletonized commander style.
Construction and finish details highlight both durability and presentation. The stainless-steel frame wears a black nitride finish, with the slide finished in a two-tone scheme of stainless flats and black nitride sections. KOENIG logos and Ruger Custom Shop medallions appear on the slide, and G10 grip panels with Ruger medallions complete the package. Capacity is 8+1 in .45 ACP.
