The BPS Field uses a bottom-ejecting, bottom-loading design that keeps hulls and loading confined to the centerline of the gun. This layout is inherently ambidextrous and pairs with a top-tang safety for straightforward operation by right- or left-handed shooters.
The 28-inch steel barrel has a ventilated rib and a single front bead for a clean sight picture. It is threaded for the Browning Standard Invector choke system and accepts flush tubes; this setup includes Modified, Improved Cylinder, and Full options. The 3-inch chamber handles both 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch 12-gauge shells.
A gloss blued steel receiver with twin action bars delivers the smooth cycling the BPS is known for. Capacity is 2+1. The trigger guard bears the gold Browning Buckmark logo, a classic detail on period Field models.
The walnut stock and finger-groove forend feature cut checkering for secure purchase. A recoil pad and a 14.25-inch length of pull round out the fit and handling. The overall finish presents the traditional blued-and-walnut look associated with 1980s Browning field guns.
Controls and features are straightforward and durable: pump-action operation, top-tang safety, and a steel receiver built for longevity. The combination of the ambidextrous ejection/loading system and the Invector choke versatility makes this Field configuration practical across a wide range of 12-gauge tasks.
