The VP9 features HK's striker-fired, short-recoil system with ambidextrous controls, including paddle-style magazine releases and slide catches. The slide has front and rear cocking serrations and a rear striker status indicator, while the frame provides a MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail on the dustcover. When the frame-fixed compensator/weight is installed, this native rail is covered; only the device’s short integrated rail segment remains accessible.
Its 4.09 in cold hammer-forged barrel uses polygonal rifling and is non-threaded. Sights are dovetailed iron sights with a green front dot and a black square-notch rear, delivering a 6.38 in sight radius for a clear sight picture.
This example includes a rail-mounted, frame-fixed compensator/weight with ports and an integral accessory-rail segment, along with an add-on flared magazine-well funnel. These components are installed and give the pistol a customized, competition-leaning setup; the frame-fixed unit fully covers the VP9's native dustcover rail, so only the short Picatinny segment integrated into the device is usable for mounting accessories.
Grip fit is easily tuned using the interchangeable backstraps and side panels. Proof marks include the DE country code and German proofs, underscoring its German origin and quality control. Capacity is 17+1 with the included factory magazines.
Note: The included Alien Gear IWB holster is not compatible with the pistol when the compensator is installed.
