The PDP Compact 4.0 configuration pairs a compact grip with a 4.0 inch barrel for a balanced 15+1 package in 9mm Luger. The slide is optics-ready with a removable cover plate; the rear sight is mounted to this plate. Deep front and rear grasping serrations aid manipulation, and an external extractor is standard.
Barrel and slide are carbon steel with a Tenifer treatment and a black finish. The barrel uses polygonal rifling with a 250 mm right-hand twist. The frame is black polymer with Walther’s Performance Duty Texture for consistent traction. Interchangeable S/M/L backstraps and a reversible, button-style magazine release support user fit and control.
Controls and carry features include the striker-fired, short-recoil, locked-breech action and Walther’s Performance Duty Trigger. A 3-slot Picatinny accessory rail on the dustcover accepts compatible lights or accessories. The pistol ships with 3-dot iron sights, with the rear sight integral to the optics cover plate.
Made in Germany and imported by Walther Arms, Fort Smith, Arkansas, this example bears the “WALTHER ARMS FORT SMITH, AR, MADE IN GERMANY” marking. The serial number location is on the rear optic-cover base. The PDP series launched in 2021 and has been recognized within the industry; the platform also served as the basis for Germany’s P14K compact Special Forces pistol.
