What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson Model 65-3 .357 Magnum revolver with 4-inch heavy barrel
- Pachmayr Gripper one-piece rubber stocks (installed)
The Model 65-3 represents a key engineering update in the Model 65 line, eliminating the pinned barrel and recessed cylinder while slightly lengthening the cylinder to about 1.62 inches. This variant retains the fixed-sight, 4-inch heavy-barrel format that many shooters and agencies favored for durability and straightforward operation.
It is a six-shot, fluted-cylinder .357 Magnum with an exposed ejector-rod shroud and a knurled ejector-rod tip. The fixed sighting system consists of a serrated ramp front and an integral rear groove, set up for a clean, no-adjustment sight picture.
Controls and handling are classic S&W K-frame: double-action/single-action operation with a smooth trigger and a checkered-spur hammer. The satin/brushed stainless construction provides corrosion resistance and a work-ready appearance consistent with the Model 65 series.
Aftermarket Pachmayr Gripper one-piece rubber stocks are installed, adding a finger-groove profile and secure hold. Markings include the yoke cut "MOD. 65-3," barrel-side legends, and the right-side frame legend "MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS." Country of origin is the United States, with production in the early 1980s.
