What's Included
- 1x 6-round Jennings J-22 steel magazine
The J-22 uses a straight blowback, striker-fired action with a fixed steel barrel and a recoil spring that surrounds the barrel. This simple, compact layout helps keep the profile slim while maintaining reliable function with standard .22 LR ammunition.
Controls are straightforward and true to the model: a heel-style magazine catch at the butt, a manual sliding safety with sear lock, and the J-22’s recognizable rear push-button takedown for field-stripping. Vertical rear slide serrations provide a positive grasping surface.
Sights are integral and fixed, with an integral front blade and a square-notch rear. The slide and frame wear a uniform black finish, with the frame constructed from zinc-alloy (Zamak) and black checkered plastic grips completing the compact profile.
Slide markings include "MODEL J-22 / 22 CAL LONG RIFLE" and "Jennings Firearms, Inc., CHINO, CALIFORNIA U.S.A." The design originated in the late 1970s and was later marketed under the Bryco, Jimenez, and JA-22 names. Approximate unloaded weight is 13 oz.
