This FN America SCAR 17S NRCH is a 7.62x51 semi-automatic rifle featuring the dual, ambidextrous non-reciprocating charging handles introduced on the NRCH update in 2021. It pairs a 16.25 inch cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined, threaded barrel with a two-position adjustable gas regulator, a monolithic aluminum upper with full-length MIL-STD-1913 top rail, and a side-folding, telescoping stock with adjustable cheekpiece. Thoughtful upgrades include an ERGO textured pistol grip and a flared magazine funnel, and it comes with a Viridian X5L light/laser.

The NRCH system delivers dual, ambidextrous, forward-mounted charging handles that do not reciprocate during firing, with a forward-press feature to assist bolt closure. An ambidextrous safety selector complements the control layout. Receiver markings include FN Columbia, SC USA and SCAR 17S MULTI-CALIBER, with FN oval logo and 2D matrix/QR-style proofs.
The 16.25 inch barrel is cold hammer-forged and chrome-lined for durability and corrosion resistance, and is threaded for muzzle device compatibility. Twist rate is 1:12, and the barrel is marked MP [FN logo] 7.62x51MM 1/12. A two-position adjustable gas regulator with a disassembly position supports reliable operation across conditions.
The monolithic aluminum upper provides a full-length MIL-STD-1913 top rail, with additional 3 and 6 o'clock rails for accessories. Folding iron sights are included, with a flip-up front sight on the gas block and a folding rear aperture sight.
The polymer stock side-folds and telescopes for length-of-pull adjustment, features a numbered LOP scale, and includes an adjustable cheekpiece. The rifle is predominantly black, with a matte gray barrel and a natural/silver-finished gas block/front sight assembly.
