The MT6700 Competition HBAR uses a 20-inch steel heavy-profile barrel with a 1:9 right-hand twist and a rifle-length gas system. The barrel is magnetic-particle inspected and marked "C MP 5.56 NATO 1/9 HBAR," pairing durability with the proven direct-impingement, rotating-bolt operating system.
This is a ban-era configuration with an unthreaded muzzle and no bayonet lug. The fixed A2 carry handle upper integrates a forward assist, brass deflector, and ejection-port cover, while the A2 rear aperture sight features a 6/3 elevation drum. The front sight is an A-frame post on a pinned F-marked base with an under-slung sling swivel, secured by a delta ring assembly.
Furniture is classic A2: a rifle-length round ribbed two-piece polymer handguard, a fixed A2 stock with trapdoor storage and a rear sling swivel, and an A2 pistol grip with checkering and a finger shelf. Length of pull is 13.5 inches, and controls include a manual safety.
Forged aluminum receivers wear a matte hard-anodized finish with Colt factory markings, including the prancing pony roll mark. The lower is roll-marked "MATCH TARGET COMPETITION HBAR" and "CAL. .223," while the barrel is marked for 5.56 NATO. Additional ban-era features include the large two-screw front pivot pin. Capacity is 10+1 with the included 10-round magazine.
