The 52B Target configuration centers on precision. The 28-inch heavy-contour Winchester Proof Steel barrel is finished in blue and cut with a target crown, and both the barrel and receiver carry Winchester WP proof marks. The barrel rollmark clearly identifies the model and chambering.
Target sighting equipment is installed: a receiver-mounted micrometer aperture rear sight and a hooded/globe front sight. A single external-adjustment target-scope block is mounted on the forward barrel position; the rear barrel block is missing, with the rear mounting holes present.
The walnut target stock is uncheckered with a pistol-grip profile and a 14.0-inch length of pull. It is outfitted with a fore-end accessory rail and a sliding handstop/sling loop assembly. At the rear is a Freeland adjustable target buttplate with rubber marked "FREELAND ... L.A. CALIF."
This turn-bolt repeater uses a large round bolt knob and an open ejection port, and feeds from a detachable 5-round steel magazine for a 5+1 capacity. The receiver and barrel wear a blued finish, and the rifle was made in the USA.
