The 28-inch vent-rib barrel is set up with Remington’s interchangeable flush choke system and comes fitted with a Modified choke. The chamber is 3 inches, accommodating both 2 3/4- and 3-inch 12 gauge shells for flexible load selection. The bore is excellent with a clean, mirror finish.
The action uses dual action bars with right-side ejection and a bottom loading port. A cross-bolt safety is positioned behind the trigger, and the trigger guard is black polymer. Capacity is 2+1.
The Express Synthetic configuration includes a black synthetic stock and forend with molded texturing for secure handling. A Remington SuperCell recoil pad is installed, and a sling swivel stud is set into the toe of the buttstock. Length of pull measures 13.75 inches.
Finish is matte throughout, and factory markings include "Remington 870" on the left side of the receiver and "REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY ILION, NY." on the barrel. This shotgun was made in the USA.
