The P8 A1 configuration mirrors the Bundeswehr service-pattern, using a manual safety/decocker layout that returns to safe after decocking. It maintains the USP family’s DA/SA operating system with an exposed spur hammer and an ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release.
The 4.25-inch cold-hammer-forged steel barrel uses conventional lands-and-grooves rifling, distinguishing it from USP-pattern polygonal rifling. This example is chambered in 9mm Luger and the bore condition is excellent with sharp rifling.
HK’s recoil-reduction system is incorporated, and the pistol includes a USP-pattern equipment rail for compatible accessories. Sights are the practical 3-dot contrast type, with a post front and open-notch rear.
Markings include the HK logo, P8 A1 model designation, DE country code, and CIP N nitro proof. An HKI Columbus, GA importer plate is present, and matching serials were observed on the slide and importer plate. The included P8-pattern polymer magazines feature dust protection and are marked Made in Germany.
