Controls and sighting are simple and familiar: fixed 3-dot white sights (single white dot front, two-dot rear) and both front and rear slide serrations for confident manipulation.
This model uses a striker-fired action with a trigger safety. It is capable of firing with the magazine removed, as it does not have a magazine disconnect.
An integral two-slot accessory rail is molded into the dustcover for mounting compatible equipment. Textured grip panels with the S&W monogram offer a consistent hold.
