The VP9 is a full-size striker-fired pistol from HK's VP Series, built on a polymer frame and made in Germany. This example bears the DE country code, German proof/inspection shield, and the HKI Columbus, GA import mark. The slide and barrel have matching serial numbers.
The 4.09-inch barrel is cold-hammer-forged and non-threaded, with polygonal rifling. The trigger system includes a safety blade within the trigger shoe, and the pistol incorporates a trigger safety.
Ergonomics are customizable with interchangeable backstrap and side panels, combined with an aggressive molded texture for secure handling. Controls are fully ambidextrous, including slide stop levers and the paddle-style magazine release. Stated capacity is 17+1 rounds.
The slide features front and rear serrations and dovetailed steel sights: a green-dot front post and a plain serrated rear notch of standard height. A Picatinny-type accessory rail with four slots is molded into the dust cover for mounting compatible accessories.
