Manufactured by Fabryka Broni "Łucznik" in Radom, this carbine carries the Polish oval "11" factory code on the barrel shank, along with an OW-in-diamond buttstock cartouche and small inspection proofs. Its 1955 production date places it squarely in the 1950s Polish arsenal era, aligning with the kbk wz.44 pattern on the Mosin–Nagant platform.
The rifle retains a blued steel receiver and barrel paired with a hardwood stock. The stock includes side sling slots with metal escutcheons and a steel buttplate, complemented by a short upper handguard running from the rear sight base to the forward barrel band. Two spring-retained barrel bands secure the handguard, and the front sight sleeve incorporates the bayonet lug as designed.
Notable for its configuration, the wz.44 features a right-side, permanently attached side-folding cruciform spike bayonet with a hinge block and locking lug. Sights are correct military pattern: a hooded post front sight and a tangent rear leaf graduated to 1,000 meters. The action is bolt-operated with a knurled cocking-piece safety, feeding from a 5-round internal magazine in 7.62x54R.
This example stands out for its matching serial numbers on the receiver, bolt body, and trigger guard/floorplate, as well as its excellent bore with sharp rifling. The overall fit and finish remain consistent with careful prior handling, and the installed sling adds period-appropriate utility.
