The All-Purpose Youth configuration provides a 12-inch length of pull with a black synthetic stock and a rubber recoil pad molded with "MOSSBERG." This layout keeps the shotgun compact and manageable while maintaining the proven Model 88 operating system.
The 22-inch vent-rib barrel is threaded for Mossberg Accu-Choke tubes and is equipped with a front bead and a mid-rib bead for quick sight alignment. An M (Modified) choke is installed, and an extended ported turkey choke is included for tighter patterns when needed.
Built on an aluminum-alloy receiver with a matte black anodized finish, the action uses twin action bars, dual extractors, and an anti-jam elevator. The steel barrel and magazine tube wear a blued finish. A cross-bolt safety in the trigger guard with a red indicator provides straightforward status at a glance. The magazine tube holds 5 rounds of 20 gauge.
Chambered for both 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch shells, this Model 88 is marked "MAVERICK ARMS EAGLE PASS, TX — 20 GA. MODEL 88," with the barrel marked "MOSSBERG CHAMBERED FOR 2¾ AND 3 IN.
