This rifle is an original first-generation Kimber Model 84 from the Clackamas, Oregon period, distinct from later 84M and 84L designs. Its micro-length action was purpose-built for small centerfire cartridges and is marked for .221 Rem FB on the chamber.
The 24-inch sightless barrel is tapered, unthreaded, and finished with a recessed crown. The .221 Remington Fireball chambering is comparatively uncommon among bolt-action sporters, adding appeal for collectors and enthusiasts of lightweight varmint cartridges.
Features include a blued finish, a polished round bolt knob, and an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate offering a 4-round capacity. The walnut sporter stock has a straight comb, cut checkering, sling swivel studs, and a checkered steel buttplate. Length of pull measures 13.75 inches.
The scope ring mounts are configured with the rear ring clamped to the receiver and the front ring clamped to a dovetail/quarter-rib on the barrel just ahead of the receiver, and the rifle comes with installed 1-inch rings. The design incorporates a right-side bolt-shroud safety lever.
