The Third Series Targetsman is the economy adjustable-sight model within the Colt Woodsman family. By design, this variant omits the automatic slide stop while retaining the Woodsman-pattern frame and detachable single-stack magazines for a 10+1 capacity.
Its 6-inch round, non-tapered barrel uses an integral front blade, paired with a square-notch screw-adjustable rear sight for precise alignment. The slide wears rear serrations for confident manipulation.
Construction is all steel with a polished blue finish on the frame, receiver, and slide. Controls include a manual safety, and the pistol uses a smooth, curved trigger. Early black injection-molded stocks feature molded checkering, Colt medallions, and a right-hand thumbrest.
This single-action-only, blowback-operated .22 LR was manufactured in the United States in 1959, placing it squarely within the late-1950s era of Colt rimfire target pistols. An OEM Colt blue plastic case is provided for storage, but it is not correct for this specific pistol.
