Built on a stainless steel slide and frame finished in Ed Brown's black Gen4 thermoset-polymer coating, the FX2 Gen4 delivers durable protection with a clean, modern look. The Commander-length 4.25 inch stainless barrel uses a traditional bushing system and is flush cut with a recessed crown.
The slide is distinctive to the FX series, featuring front relief cuts and American flag rear serrations for confident manipulation. It is machined with an optic cut and top-rear screw holes for a micro optic, and this pistol has an optic base plate installed. Iron sights include a high-visibility front blade and a black ledge-style rear.
Ergonomics are purpose-driven: a bobtail frame helps manage print while maintaining a full firing grip, and snakeskin/chainlink texturing on the frontstrap and mainspring housing provides consistent purchase. Black/gray textured G10 grip panels add further traction and durability.
Controls are classic 1911 single-action with an extended single-side thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety with a memory pad. A recessed and serrated slide stop pin reflects the pistol's attention to detail. Chambered in .45 ACP, capacity is 7+1 using standard single-stack magazines.
