The Gen 1 Contender frame is factory engraved with scroll motifs and large feline panels on both receiver sides, giving this example a distinctive factory-applied finish. The blued steel frame and receiver are complemented by a walnut pistol grip with a black backstrap insert and a matching walnut fore-end, with sling swivel studs fitted.
The 10-inch blued round barrel is chambered in .30-30 Win and is marked "THOMPSON/CENTER ARMS - ROCHESTER, N.H." and "30-30 WIN." The barrel has no iron sights. A scope base and rings are installed, and a Thompson/Center pistol scope is mounted, as noted: Thompson Center scope installed.
Performance-oriented additions include an add-on ported muzzle brake/compensator at the muzzle and barrel porting. The break-open, single-shot action uses an external hammer with a hammer-mounted rimfire/centerfire firing-pin selector (marked "R"), consistent with the Contender design.
Built in the USA, this Contender uses the well-known interchangeable barrel system for caliber and barrel-length flexibility. The serial number is located on the grip-tang behind the hammer. Overall fit includes a blued finish throughout, steel construction for the frame, receiver, and barrel, and a clean presentation suited to both field and bench use.
