Built on the Swedish Mauser 1896 pattern, this m/38 features controlled-round-feed with a non-rotating claw extractor and a turned-down bolt handle. The internal box magazine holds 5 rounds and uses a hinged floorplate with an integral trigger guard. The barrel and bottom metal are blued, while the receiver and bolt are bright-polished (in-the-white), and the barrel shank shows the Husqvarna stamp.
The original 24 in round-profile steel barrel was retained during the sporterization and re-blued. Sighting equipment includes a ramped front sight with a dovetailed blade and a provision for a hood; there is no rear sight. The receiver is drilled and tapped to support the installed two-piece bases and rings.
The hardwood sporter stock adds a Monte Carlo cheekpiece, checkered grip and forend, and a rounded forend tip. A hard buttplate with a white-line spacer and a 14.0 in length of pull round out the stock fit. An inletted oval rear sling attachment is present.
Optics are handled by a Vision-Plus Super Premium 3-9x50 variable riflescope, already mounted and ready for zeroing. A low-scope side-swing safety is fitted for clearance under the optic, complementing the turned-down bolt for practical scope use.
