Built by the Smith & Wesson Performance Center as the Model of 2000 series, this revolver is a faithful reproduction of the historic Model 3 Schofield. It carries the GWS-prefix serial format associated with the limited blued 7-inch run from roughly 2000–2003, with approximately 2,599 produced in this configuration.
The revolver is constructed on a steel frame with a high-polish blued finish and a six-shot fluted cylinder. The latch, hammer, and trigger guard are color case-hardened, and the grips are smooth walnut. The 7-inch barrel features a full-length rib, with a pinned blade front sight and a fixed rear notch integral to the top latch.
Mechanically, it is a single-action, top-break design with an automatic star extractor, true to the original Schofield pattern. It is chambered in .45 Schofield and sized as a full-size revolver for classic handling and balance.
Markings include "45 S & W" on the left barrel rib and "SCHOFIELD'S PAT. APR. 22D 1873" on the right barrel flat, along with a "US" marking on the butt. These details, combined with the Performance Center provenance, underscore the reissue’s historical alignment and collectible appeal.
