The rifle is chambered in 8mm Mauser and uses a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt. Its 21.7-inch barrel is threaded and fitted with the long, slotted M76-style muzzle device, capturing the intended configuration of the original pattern.
Optics are correctly addressed with the installed ZRAK ON-M76 scope on a quick-detach side mount. The scope features a calibrated stadia reticle and an elevation/BDC turret tuned for the platform. For iron sights, it retains the tangent rear sight and a hoodless, AK-style protected front post.
