What’s Included
- Walther P.38 ac 42 9mm pistol
- 1 Walther factory P.38 8-round steel magazine (Walther banner marked)
Produced under the ac 42 code by Carl Walther, this P.38 dates to July 1942, squarely within WWII service production. It shows matching serial numbers throughout and proper acceptance markings, including Waffenamt WaA359 and the Nazi-era eagle proof, aligning with Walther inspection practices of the period.
The pistol uses the hallmark P.38 mechanism: a recoil-operated, locked-breech system with a falling locking block and open-top slide. It is configured with a double-action/single-action trigger and a slide-mounted safety/decocker. The 4.9-inch carbon-steel barrel, fixed sights, and external hammer complete the model’s functional layout.
Construction is all carbon steel with a blued finish on the frame, slide, and receiver. It wears ribbed brown/black mottled Bakelite grip panels and retains the integral lanyard loop at the heel. This full-size pattern is chambered in 9mm Luger with an 8+1 capacity.
Markings include the slide legend "P.38" alongside the factory code "ac 42." Post-war export and import stamps are present: "GERMANY" on the underside of the slide, forward of the chamber/locking block window, and a U.S. import legend on the underside of the barrel ending "...MIAMI, FLA USA" with "9mm," documenting its export history after wartime service.
It comes with a Walther factory P.38 9mm steel magazine bearing the Walther banner, an appropriate companion to this ac 42-marked wartime pistol.
