The DY12Y is built around a 7075-T6 aluminum receiver with a hard-anodized finish and a free-float, skeletonized aluminum handguard. The top Picatinny rail runs continuously across the receiver and handguard, and the handguard windows reveal the gas system components. The receiver is marked "DERYA – MADE IN USA – JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA," and the model marking "DY12Y" is present on the receiver.
The 11-inch barrel is made from 4140 steel and chrome-lined for durability and easy maintenance. It is threaded M24x1 RH at the muzzle and uses separate TR25x2 threads to retain the vented cylindrical muzzle device/barrel shroud. The chamber is 3 inches. A Mil-Spec buffer tube (receiver extension) is fitted at the rear for the action spring and stock/brace interface.
This semi-automatic, gas-operated shotgun uses Derya's BufferBolt recoil system to manage cycling. The DAXOS side-swappable charging handle provides ambidextrous setup, and AR-style controls include a thumb safety with SAFE/FIRE pictograms, a bolt catch on the left, and a magazine release on the right.
The detachable box-magazine system offers a stated 10+1 capacity. This example includes two 10-round magazines and one 5-round magazine. Flip-up front and rear iron sights come installed, and a detachable AR-style carry handle is included in the case.
