The revolver follows the open-top Colt-pattern frame with a separate conversion ring that incorporates the fixed rear-sight notch. A right-side ejector assembly runs under the barrel, and the wedge-retained, round-profile steel barrel measures 8 inches. It is single-action only and chambered in .45 Colt, with a six-shot capacity.
Construction is all steel, with a color case-hardened frame and receiver complemented by a blued barrel and blued cylinder. The grips are smooth one-piece walnut. Sighting is fixed, consisting of a steel blade front sight and a rear notch in the conversion ring.
The six-shot cylinder is detailed with the Ormsby naval engagement scene and "PATENT NO" markings. Italian proof marks appear on the underside of the barrel lug. The barrel is marked "CIMARRON F.A. Co. FREDERICKSBURG, TEXAS – A.
UBERTI – ITALY," reflecting Cimarron Firearms Co. as the importer and A. Uberti as the manufacturer. Made in Italy.
Additional noted details include matching serial numbers observed on the frame and an adjoining part. This example is identified by Uberti/Cimarron catalog number CA9052 and is a faithful reproduction of the Richards Conversion Type II pattern.
