This Thunder 45 Ultra Compact is the earlier pre-"Pro" configuration, chambered in .45 ACP and sized for concealability without giving up capacity. It uses a 3.6-inch barrel and holds 7+1 rounds, with overall dimensions of approximately 6.81 inches in length, 5.08 inches in height, and 1.46 inches in width. Unloaded weight is about 27 ounces.
The pistol operates on a Browning-type linkless short-recoil system with a traditional DA/SA trigger. Controls include an ambidextrous manual safety/decocker and a left-side magazine release. An automatic firing-pin safety and an external spur hammer round out the control and safety features.
Sight picture is provided by fixed 3-dot sights: a front blade with a white dot and a dovetailed, notched rear with two white dots. The slide has rear serrations for traction. The frontstrap and backstrap feature vertical grasping grooves, and the black wrap-around textured grips with the BERSA logo offer a secure hold.
