What’s Included
- CVA Hawken Rifle, .54 caliber percussion muzzleloader
- Wood ramrod with brass tips
This rifle uses a traditional percussion cap sidelock with a right-hand configuration. The hammer and lockplate display a color-hardened finish, complementing the classic Hawken pattern. Capacity is single-shot, as expected for a muzzleloader of this type.
The 28" octagonal steel barrel is rifled and retained by two transverse wedge keys. Spanish proof symbols are present, including "700 Kp/cm²," and the barrel bears clear CVA and caliber markings specifying black powder use only.
Controls and sighting equipment are set up for precise shooting. The rifle is equipped with double set triggers and open sights, including a dovetailed front blade and an adjustable rear open sight with an elevation slide.
The hardwood half-stock features period-style brass furniture: a crescent buttplate, a patchbox, a trigger guard with a finger spur, brass wedge-key escutcheons, and brass ramrod thimbles. The straight wrist and a 14.5" length of pull provide a traditional fit, with a wood ramrod carried beneath the barrel.
Factory scroll engraving appears on the lockplate, adding an authentic visual detail to this reproduction. The overall configuration adheres to the Hawken style while clearly marked as a CVA-made, Spain-produced example.
