The 7.5" barrel is cold hammer-forged and chrome-lined, topped with a three-prong flash hider and a threaded muzzle. An adjustable gas regulator is optimized for .300 BLK subsonic and supersonic ammunition, supporting reliable function across load types. Capacity is 30+1 with the included magazine.
Its operating system is semi-automatic with a short-stroke gas piston and rotating bolt. Non-reciprocating dual charging handles and an ambidextrous selector are complemented by a left-side bolt catch/release for efficient manipulation. The FN VPR rear end cap includes fixed sling loops.
The monolithic aluminum upper carries a full-length T-marked 12 o'clock Picatinny rail, with numbered side rails and a bottom rail for accessories. The frame is polymer, and the receiver set wears an FDE finish. No iron sights are installed.
Markings include "FN HERSTAL BELGIUM" and "SCAR 15P PISTOL MULTI-CALIBER" on the upper, ".300 BLK" on the chamber, and the FN oval logo with a dot-matrix code on the receiver; the lower is marked "FN / COLUMBIA SC."
