This Browning BDA 380 is an Italian-made, Beretta-manufactured compact .380 ACP from 1982 (Browning year code "PY"). It pairs a high-polish slide with a bright aluminum-alloy frame and smooth walnut grip panels, and features a DA/SA, straight blowback system with an ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker. It comes with two 13-round magazines and one 10-round magazine.

Beretta manufactured this BDA 380 in Italy for Browning/FN, a lineage related to the Beretta Cheetah series. The model was also marketed in Europe as the FN 140DA. Slide legends include "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q." on the left, and "FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL" over an oval "PB" monogram and "MADE IN ITALY" on the right.
The pistol uses a DA/SA, straight blowback action with an exposed spurred hammer. Its ambidextrous, slide-mounted safety/decocker includes red-dot fire indicators, and a magazine disconnect safety is present. The slide features a closed-top design with an ejection-port window, rear vertical cocking serrations, and a continuous, serrated top rib.
Construction and finish are distinctive: a high-polish slide over a bright aluminum-alloy frame, paired with smooth walnut grip panels bearing Browning "B" medallions. Fixed sights consist of a front blade and a rear notch.
