Factory-option checkered walnut grips with PB medallions, fixed 3-dot sights, and ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker set it apart. It is model marked "MOD. 85 F – CAL.

The Model 85F is a compact, single-stack member of Beretta's Cheetah Series 81, chambered in .380 ACP (9 Short) with an 8+1 capacity. Its straight blowback, DA/SA action pairs with an external spurred hammer for confident operation, while the open-top slide with rear cocking serrations supports smooth cycling.
Construction is a blend of durability and lightness: a steel slide and barrel over an aluminum-alloy frame. The slide wears a matte Bruniton black finish, and the bore and chamber are chrome-plated. Dimensions are purpose-built for carry and control: 3.81 in barrel, 6.77 in overall length, 4.8 in height, 1.37 in width, and approximately 21.9 oz in weight.
Controls and safety features include an ambidextrous slide-mounted manual safety with decocker, an automatic firing pin block, and red "fire" indicator dots on the safety levers. Sighting is straightforward with fixed 3-dot sights: an integral front blade and a dovetailed rear notch, with a 4.88 in sight radius.
