Built in the USA from 1972–1984, the Bauer Automatic is an American stainless-steel rendition of the FN Baby Browning. This example features an investment-cast 416 stainless slide and frame with a satin stainless finish, keeping weight around 10 oz and overall length about 4.04 inches while retaining a 2.1 inch barrel and 6+1 capacity.
Its operating system is striker-fired, single-action, and straight blowback. A two-position thumb safety doubles as a slide lock and provides an index for takedown. For disassembly, the barrel rotates approximately 45 degrees clockwise, a straightforward system consistent with the design lineage.
The slide is outfitted with rear serrations, an oval ejection port, and an anti-glare top rib. Sights are integral and fixed, with an integral front blade and a square-notch rear, offering a durable, snag-resistant profile suitable for the pistol’s micro size.
Checkered wood grips complement the stainless construction. Factory markings include "Bauer Automatic .25 CALIBER AUTOMATIC" and "Bauer Firearms Corp. FRASER, MICHIGAN U.S.A.," affirming its American manufacture and period-correct configuration.
