As a first-generation P99 AS, this pistol has the enclosed single-slot dust-cover rail that distinguishes early-production models. It is German-made and carries German proof marks alongside the Walther USA LLC Springfield, MA import marking, aligning it with its 2000 production year.
The trigger system is Walther’s DA/SA Anti-Stress (AS) design with a short reset, paired with a top-mounted decocker and a rear striker status indicator. The ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release is integral to the frame and supports efficient operation from either side.
The 4" steel barrel includes a loaded-chamber viewport. The slide wears rear serrations and a Tenifer finish, complementing the glass-fiber-reinforced polymer frame. Factory-adjustable 3-dot sights are installed, with a front post and a rear sight set in a dovetail.
Ergonomics are supported by textured polymer grips and an interchangeable backstrap system, with two spare backstraps included. The pistol is full-size with a 16-round capacity and comes complete with three magazines, the factory case, the original manual, and a serial-matched test target.
