The Reb Nord series from F.lli Pietta reproduces the classic 1851 Navy pattern with an open-top frame and no topstrap, retaining the historic profile and handling traits of the original percussion design. This example is made in Italy and bears Italian proof marks, including the PN black powder proof.
It is built with a 7 3/8 inch octagonal blued steel barrel and an under-barrel loading lever, with a wedge-retained barrel assembly for traditional takedown. The six-shot plain (unengraved) blued steel cylinder is plain; the right barrel flat bears the "BLACK POWDER ONLY .44 CAL." marking.
The frame and receiver are brass alloy with a polished finish, paired with a color case hardened, spurred hammer and smooth, uncheckered hardwood grips. Fixed sights include a fixed front sight for a clear, simple sight picture.
Chambered in .44 caliber (cap-and-ball), this revolver uses single-action percussion ignition and is marked "BLACK POWDER ONLY .44 CAL." The left side carries the maker marking "F.LLI PIETTA – MADE IN ITALY" with the FAP logo.
