The receiver is machined from hardened brass with a polished finish, featuring a solid-top design and right-side ejection. The 22 inch octagonal barrel is blued steel with a 1:20 twist, and the barrel is rollmarked CAL. 45-70 GOV'T. along with HENRY REPEATING ARMS — BAYONNE NJ — MADE IN USA.
Feeding is flexible thanks to Henry's dual loading system: a right-side loading gate plus a removable magazine tube. The full-length tubular magazine uses a brass inner follower and provides a 4+1 capacity in .45-70 Govt.
Sighting equipment includes a brass bead front and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear with a stepped elevator. The receiver is drilled and tapped in a four-hole Weaver 63B pattern, and this example includes a brass receiver-top optics rail already installed.
Furniture is straight-grip American walnut, smooth and uncheckered, with sling swivel studs, a brass forend cap with a front stud, and a brass buttplate. A transfer-bar safety and a 13.5 inch length of pull round out the handling features. The receiver is marked MODEL H010BG.
