The 14-1 engineering change adds a left-hand-thread extractor rod, paired with a six-shot fluted cylinder and a knurled ejector-rod tip. It retains the short front locking lug (no full underlug), preserving the classic K-38 balance and handling profile.
The 6 in pinned barrel features a narrow, serrated rib and longitudinal serrations on both the barrel and topstrap. Sighting is via a pinned Patridge front and a micrometer adjustable rear, delivering the traditional S&W target setup associated with the K-38 Target Masterpiece line.
Construction is all carbon steel with a high-polish blued finish on the barrel, frame, and cylinder. The revolver is configured with a wide, serrated trigger and a wide-spur, casehardened hammer, and operates in double-action/single-action.
This Model 14-1 reflects the 1960s K-frame target revolver lineage from Smith & Wesson, made in the United States. Its components and features align closely with the classic K-38 specification known to dedicated target shooters and S&W enthusiasts.
