What’s Included
- Thompson/Center Hawken .45 caliber percussion rifle
The 28 in. octagonal blued barrel pairs with a percussion sidelock employing a hooked patent breech with an integral snail bolster into which the nipple threads (often with a clean-out screw on the bolster face), delivering the traditional single-shot muzzleloader format. The lockplate and hammer are color case-hardened; the hammer shows T/C’s typical cast decorative motif, with no engraving on the lockplate.
Brass furniture includes the buttplate, a patchbox with a hinged round lid, an S-curved trigger guard, the nosecap/entry thimble, and wedge escutcheons. An under-barrel rib holds two ramrod pipes, and the barrel is secured by a single transverse wedge key. The barrel is marked Rochester, New Hampshire, reflecting its U.S. manufacture.
The stock is a full-length hardwood with a walnut finish and a raised cheekpiece on the left side. Length of pull measures 13.75 in., providing a traditional fit and balance consistent with the Hawken pattern.
Sighting equipment consists of a dovetailed front blade and an adjustable open rear leaf with an elevation slider. The rifle uses external hammer ignition and double-set triggers for refined control.
