Product Description

    Remington M1903A3 .30-06 Sporterized Bolt-Action Rifle, 24" Barrel, 1943 WWII-Era, Receiver Aperture Sight

This WWII-era 1943 Remington M1903A3 has been sporterized with an aftermarket checkered wood stock and a receiver-mounted micrometer aperture rear sight. It retains its 24" carbon-steel barrel and internal 5+1 magazine, with the receiver rollmarked "U.S. REMINGTON MODEL 03-A3." Additional markings include an "R" on the front-sight base, two stacked P proofs near the muzzle step, and barrel stampings "A 49 V."

The rifle blends the proven M1903A3 action with a sporter profile barrel and a custom stock tailored for field carry. The result is a streamlined configuration without the original military handguard or barrel bands, set up with practical features for aimed fire through the receiver aperture sight and a protective winged front-sight base.

    Condition

Specific Condition Notes: There is a chip missing in the stock at the bottom. The slot for the bolt in the wood was crudely cut out.

    What's Included
    • Remington M1903A3 .30-06 bolt-action rifle (sporterized with aftermarket wood stock and receiver-mounted micrometer aperture rear sight)

This M1903A3 is a U.S.-made Remington action from the WWII era, chambered in .30-06 with an internal 5-round magazine (5+1 capacity). The receiver is marked "U.S. REMINGTON MODEL 03-A3," and the barrel shows "A 49 V" stampings. The front-sight base carries an "R," and two stacked P proofs are present near the muzzle step.

The rifle has been sporterized with an aftermarket wood stock featuring cut checkering on the forend and pistol grip. It omits the original military handguard and barrel bands, and it wears a black hard-plastic buttplate. Length of pull measures 14.0", and a sling swivel stud is installed.

Sighting equipment includes a receiver-mounted micrometer aperture rear sight (aftermarket, target-style) paired with a protective winged front-sight base. This setup provides precise adjustment at the rear and a robust front reference.

The 24" carbon-steel barrel is sporter profile, and the rifle operates with a cock-on-open bolt and a flag safety. Both the receiver and barrel are carbon steel, consistent with the period construction and intended durability.
