The Model 327 TRR8 is a Performance Center revolver built on an N-frame scandium-alloy chassis with a matte black finish and a stainless-steel cylinder. Capacity is eight rounds, and the cylinder features distinctive teardrop flutes. The revolver is chambered in .357 Magnum.
The steel, two-piece Performance Center barrel system measures 5 inches and uses a slab-sided shroud with a windowed ejector-rod housing. The shroud is drilled and tapped with four holes on top and three on the bottom to accept detachable rail segments; the rails are not installed on this example.
The action is double-action/single-action with Performance Center tuning. It has a smooth-face trigger, an exposed hammer with a checkered spur, and a checkered cylinder latch. An internal key lock is positioned above the cylinder latch.
Sights are iron: an interchangeable gold-bead front sight on a pinned base paired with an adjustable rear sight featuring a square-notch micrometer blade. The grip is a black rubber Hogue Monogrip with molded S&W logos (no metal medallions) for secure, comfortable control.
This TRR8 is moon-clip compatible for fast, positive loading. Factory markings include the model in the yoke recess and Made in U.S.A., Smith & Wesson, Springfield, MA. Manufacturer part number is 170269 (170269A also noted).
