The Trooper MK III design uses Colt’s MK III lockwork with coil springs and sintered-steel internal parts, paired with a transfer-bar safety for consistent DA/SA operation. This example has an exposed, color case-hardened hammer, a blued trigger, and a serrated backstrap. The six-shot fluted cylinder rotates clockwise.
The 6-inch steel barrel is non-vented and fitted with an ejector-rod shroud. The ejector rod runs in a recessed channel under the barrel, and the revolver is built on Colt’s MK III J-frame with all-steel construction and a polished blued finish across the frame, cylinder, and receiver.
Target-style sighting equipment includes a ramped front sight with a serrated face and an adjustable square-notch rear sight. The checkered walnut target stocks feature gold Colt medallions and complement the polished blue finish.
Factory markings include the Colt "prancing pony" logo on the right side of the frame and barrel rollmarks reading "TROOPER MK III" and ".22 MAGNUM R.F." This U.S.-made revolver is chambered in .22 WMR, a less common configuration for the Trooper MK III line.
