The SAR configuration delivers the Galil ACE system in a compact pistol platform chambered in 7.62x39, using a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston with a closed rotating bolt. The receiver is milled steel, while the frame and forearm components are polymer for durability and weight balance. Safety controls include an ambidextrous selector with S (white) and F (red) markings.
The 8.3 inch barrel is CrMoV steel, cold hammer-forged, and chrome-lined, with a 1:9.45 RH twist for this caliber. It is threaded and fitted with a removable A2-style birdcage flash hider. The continuous Picatinny top rail has T-mark style numbering to aid repeatable accessory placement.
Factory sights include a protected front post and an adjustable rear aperture (diopter). The polymer tri-rail handguard comes with slide-on rail covers for a clean handhold when rails are not in use. Rail sections provide mounting space for lights or other accessories as desired.
A side-folding hinge mounts an SB Tactical pistol stabilizing brace marked "SB Tactical / Made in U.S.A.," with a round IWI logo molded into the brace body. This setup offers compact storage and transport while retaining ready-to-use ergonomics.
This pistol accepts detachable AK-pattern 7.62x39 magazines and has a 30+1 capacity. The magwell has been professionally relieved/cut to allow compatibility with a wider range of AK-pattern magazines. Receiver markings include "GALIL ACE SAR CAL. 7.62X39 IWI – ISRAEL" and "IWI US MIDDLETOWN, PA," with a 2D data-matrix adjacent to the serial. It is assembled in the U.S.
