Smith & Wesson Model 66-1 Combat Magnum .357 Magnum Revolver, 6-inch, Satin Stainless, Adjustable Sights
This Smith & Wesson Model 66-1 Combat Magnum is a K-frame, stainless-steel .357 Magnum revolver from circa 1980 with the desirable 6-inch barrel. It features pinned-barrel construction from the pre-1982 era, adjustable sights, and factory wooden target stocks. As a -1 engineering change, it reflects the move of the gas ring from the yoke to the cylinder, and it stands as the stainless counterpart to the blued Model 19.

What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson Model 66-1 .357 Magnum revolver
The Model 66-1 is the stainless-steel Combat Magnum built on the K-frame with a six-shot fluted cylinder. This example is configured with the 6-inch barrel, which provides a long sight radius (surpassed only by the 8-3/8-inch variant in the Model 66 line), and a satin stainless finish on the frame, barrel, and cylinder.
Construction details include a pinned stainless-steel barrel with a full-length serrated rib and a partial underlug, plus a serrated topstrap/rib. The -1 engineering change moved the gas ring from the yoke to the cylinder, a hallmark of this revision.
Controls and handling features are classic S&W: a double-action/single-action mechanism, an exposed hammer with a wide checkered spur, and a smooth wide trigger. The square-butt frame is fitted with wooden target stocks that carry S&W medallions and checkered panels.
Target-style sighting equipment includes an adjustable rear sight and a ramp front sight with an orange/red insert, complementing the extended sight radius of the 6-inch configuration.
