Made in Romania and brought in by Intrac Arms of Knoxville, Tennessee, this WUM-1 carries clear import and caliber markings on the receiver. The rifle follows the AKM pattern with a stamped steel receiver and ribbed top cover.
The stock set is the ban-era laminated wood thumbhole configuration with an orange shellac finish, a metal buttplate, and a sling swivel at the toe. The handguard is a two-piece laminated wood set, matching the stock.
It uses the AK long-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt and includes a right-side selector/safety lever. Sights are classic AK: a hooded front post and an adjustable tangent rear. A left-side receiver optics rail is installed. The barrel is 16.3 inches and threaded.
Capacity is 30+1, and one 30-round polymer waffle-pattern magazine is included. A standard AK-pattern cleaning rod is installed under the barrel. Length of pull is 12.5 inches.
