The PSAK-74S is built on a stamped AK-pattern receiver with magazine-well dimples and riveted construction. It uses a long-stroke gas piston with a rotating bolt and is chambered for 5.45x39mm. The 16.2 inch barrel is paired with an AK-74 pattern two-chamber muzzle brake retained by a detent, and a 90-degree gas block. A cleaning rod is installed beneath the barrel.
Furniture is classic AK-74 style with polymer upper and lower handguards and a polymer pistol grip. The steel triangle stock folds to the left and includes a rear sling loop. The length of pull is 12.5 inches. The grip and handguards have been painted military green.
Sighting equipment consists of a standard protected post front sight and a tangent rear sight leaf with numeric graduations. The receiver includes an AK-pattern right-side optics side rail for mounting compatible side-rail optics. Iron sights are installed.
Fit and finish details include the matching assembly number "2910" on components and a stamped steel receiver made in the USA. Capacity is 30+1 when used with the included 30-round Bulgarian polymer magazine.
