Colt Mustang MK IV/Series 80 Plus II .380 ACP, Matte Stainless, 2.75 in Barrel, 7+1, 1993 Production
This Colt Mustang MK IV/Series 80 Plus II stands out as the scarce Plus II variant, combining the Mustang-length 2.75 in slide and barrel with the longer Government .380 grip frame. Built in 1993 in the United States, it features matte stainless construction and fixed sights, delivering a compact profile with a longer sight radius and 7+1 capacity. The Plus II layout pairs a compact 2.75 in slide with the longer Government .380 grip frame, offering 7+1 capacity and an overall length of approximately 6 in. The extended grip yields a sight radius of about 3 5/8 in while keeping the slide short for a micro-size footprint.
Construction is matte stainless on both slide and frame, with rear cocking serrations for purchase. Black checkered synthetic grip panels with Colt medallions and a serrated rowel (ring) spur hammer complete the classic Mustang profile.
The operating system is single-action with a short, solid trigger and 1911-like manual of arms. Safety features include a manual thumb safety and a Series 80 firing pin block. There is no grip safety on this model.
Fixed sights consist of an integral front ramp and a square-notch rear in a dovetail. Unloaded weight is approximately 20 oz, balancing the micro slide with the longer grip frame. This U.S.-made 1990s-era example represents the discontinued Plus II configuration.
