The 716i TREAD uses a rifle-length gas system and a 16 in carbon-steel barrel that is nitride treated for durability. The barrel is threaded 5/8-24, marked "7.62 NATO 1/10," and currently wears a SIG Taper-Lok QD muzzle brake for SRD762-QD suppressors (suppressor not included).
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the magazine release, bolt catch/release, safety selector, and a dual-latch ambidextrous charging handle. A SIG two-stage Matchlite Duo trigger is installed, providing a clean, predictable pull suitable for precise shooting.
The free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard features a full-length 1913 top rail for accessory placement. The rifle is outfitted with a 6-position collapsible stock (13.75 in LOP) and a SIG polymer pistol grip, keeping the package adaptable while maintaining a solid, familiar AR-10 ergonomics profile.
This model accepts SR-25 pattern magazines and has a 20+1 capacity. Receiver markings read "SIG SAUER INC, NEWINGTON NH USA," and the left magwell shows the circular SIG logo over "MULTI-CALIBER." The upper includes an ejection-port cover and brass deflector with no forward assist.
