What’s Included
- Colt Officer's Model Target Third Issue .22 LR revolver
Built on Colt's medium E-frame with hand-fitted V-spring lockwork, this revolver delivers the precise, mechanical feel associated with pre-war Colt target guns. The action is double-action/single-action, paired with a six-shot fluted cylinder and an unshrouded, knurled ejector-rod head.
The flat-top target frame carries an adjustable rear sight and a Patridge-style front sight set in a screw-adjustable base, giving fine control over both windage and elevation. During this period, the rimfire Officer's Model Target was cataloged only with a 6-inch barrel, which this example has.
The factory blued finish presents with the high-polish appearance typical of pre-war Colts, complemented by checkered small parts. The revolver wears checkered walnut stocks with inset gold-tone Colt medallions, adding to its period-correct presentation.
Barrel markings read "COLT OFFICERS MODEL .22 LONG RIFLE," with the Colt rampant horse logo on the left frame. The rimfire-specific five-digit serial numbering on the crane is consistent with pre-war .22 OMT production. Made in the USA in 1938, it reflects the pre-WWII era of Colt target revolvers.
