The slide is finished in a matte dark tone with front and rear cocking serrations, and is roll-marked "OPERATOR CAL. 9MM" and "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" with the crossed-cannons crest. The frame carries "SPRINGFIELD INC GENESEO IL USA" markings and a matching matte dark finish. The internal extractor follows the 1911 pattern.
Barrel and recoil system are classic Government-length: a 5-inch barrel with a standard barrel bushing and a GI-style recoil spring plug featuring a checkered face. A flat mainspring housing and a skeletonized Commander-style hammer round out the traditional 1911 control layout.
Ergonomics and controls include a beavertail grip safety with a raised memory pad, a manual thumb safety, and a long, lightweight, skeletonized three-hole trigger. The installed add-on magazine-well funnel provides a flared opening at the grip for magazine insertion.
Sighting equipment consists of a dovetailed red fiber-optic front and a low-profile, dovetailed, drift-adjustable 2-dot rear (Novak-style). The full-length dustcover integrates a 3-slot Picatinny accessory rail. Textured synthetic G10-style grips in grey/black use a scale and honeycomb blend with diagonal grooves for secure contact.
