This Commander-length Colt 1911 is chambered in 9mm Luger and uses a Series 80 single-action system with a firing-pin safety. The 4.25 in National Match, bushing-fitted barrel and standard GI recoil spring plug deliver classic Commander geometry with precision fit. Capacity is 8+1 with the included 8-round magazine; it also accepts 9-round magazines for a 9+1 maximum.
The stainless steel construction wears Colt’s two-tone Stainless Elite treatment: brushed stainless flats contrasted by blackened accents. The slide shows brushed stainless flats with blackened top and rounds, rear cocking serrations only, and a lowered ejection port. Fixed, low-profile, dovetailed sights provide a clean, snag-resistant sight picture.
Ergonomics and controls include an upswept beavertail grip safety, an aftermarket ambidextrous thumb safety, and a solid, medium-length trigger. The front strap and the flat mainspring housing are checkered, and the magazine well is lightly beveled to aid reloads. Black checkered grip panels with molded "COLT" logos provide secure purchase.
Model markings are correct for this variant: the right slide reads "COMBAT ELITE" with stars, the left slide "COMMANDER MODEL" and "COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBER 9MM," and the barrel hood "COLT 9MM LUGER." The factory designation O4082CE identifies it as the Combat Elite Commander in 9mm, made in the United States.
