This early Model 700 BDL in 6mm Rem stands out as a 1960s sporter with a September 1966 DN date code, blued finish, and high-gloss walnut Monte Carlo stock. It features a 22" carbon steel sporter barrel with a recessed crown and an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate holding four rounds. The receiver is drilled and tapped with a one-piece Picatinny-style scope base installed, and the original open sights have been removed.

The 22" carbon steel barrel uses a sporter profile with a recessed crown. The barrel is drilled and tapped for a front sight ramp, and the original open sights have been removed, with the screw holes for the ramp still present.
This BDL sporter configuration uses an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate and a 4-round capacity. It is a bolt-action design with a manual safety.
The high-gloss walnut Monte Carlo stock is configured for right-handed use with a cheekpiece. It features fleur-de-lis checkering, a black fore-end tip with a white-line spacer, a black grip cap with a white-line spacer, a Remington-logo buttplate with a white-line spacer, and sling swivel studs. Length of pull is 13.25".
The receiver is drilled and tapped and currently fitted with a one-piece Picatinny-style scope base. No front or rear sights are installed.
Finished in blued steel, the rifle bears an oval REP proof and a DN barrel date code indicating September 1966 production. It was made in the United States during the 1960s era.
